International Quilt Festival Meet Up & Costume Contest

Join the Houston Modern Quilt Guild on Saturday, October 31st at the Lobby Bar of the Hilton Americas at 6:30 p.m. for our annual Quilt Festival Meet-Up Gathering.

Conveniently located across the street from Festival in the George R. Brown Convention Center, end your day with us and sign up for your chance to win some awesome giveaways.(***Winners must be present to win.***)

Just added to the giveaway: a Janome NQM2016 generously donated by Sewing & Vacuum Warehouse (visit them at Booth 2642 this week!)

Swag bags will be given to the first 50 people that sign up, beginning at 6:30 p.m., on the dot.

We will also be hosting a costume contest from 6:30-8:30 p.m. with prizes for Best Costume, Runner-Up Best Costume, and Worst Costume. And no, not wearing a costume doesn't count for Worst Costume! Winners must be present to win.

Mystery Quilt Workshop from Sunflower Quilts

Saturday, October 17th, 10am-4pm

in the Founder's Hall

Supply List:
You will need the following fabric amounts:

• 16 fat quarters-main fabric; can be prints, geometrics, solids etc.
• 1 ⅓ yards-accent fabric; tone on tones, solids work well; needs to have contrast with main fabric (16 fat ¼’s).
• 1 ⅔ yards-border/binding fabric; should have contrast with accent fabric and enhance or tie together main fabric (16 fat ¼”s).

Please have your fabric pre-cut before coming to the workshop. This will help insure progress with completing the quilt. Keep all cut pieces marked and separated in plastic bags. This will keep you organized for the workshop.

• Rotary Cutter and Mat
• Rulers for cutting and trimming
• Iron and Ironing Board 

Don't forget to pre-cut your fabrics!!!
