Voting Business:
The Bylaws circulated by Robin passed by
a 16-0 vote (unanimous vote of members present at the meeting).
The
following officers were nominated for the positions listed opposite their
names:
President: Bryanna O.
Vice President of Programs: Robin
W.
Vice President of Membership: Frieda Z.
Secretary: Safieh
C.
Treasurer: Amy C.
Historian: Jacey L.
Since each
nominee was running unopposed, we had a vote to ratify the aforementioned board,
which passed by a 16-0 vote (unanimous vote of members present at the
meeting).
Other Business:
We drew names for the ornament swap. If
you indicated to Amy that you were participating, but were not present at the
meeting, I will be sending you an email.
Robin did a book review on “99
Modern Blocks From Your Favorite Designers” and everyone drooled. She gave away
a copy as a door prize and Tammy won!!
Sally brought a cute birthday gift
for Robin.
The guild retreat will be the first weekend in May at Deep
Woods (near Austin).
Cost will be $170 per person, which includes dinner
Friday, breakfast, lunch and dinner Saturday and brunch Sunday. Please note, you
must BYO Sheets and you may BYOB.
Robin gave a recap of the meet ups,
which were both a HUGE success!

Bry and Liz showed a
pillow that they are collaborating on for Laurel, who made our new
logo.
Liz showed her Daiwabo hourglass quilt that she is making for her
brother and a shabby chic quilt she is making for her mother
Chi showed a
braid patterned batik quilt
Sally showed a patchwork quilt with
embroidery that she is making for Riley Blake
Erin showed an offset
Dresden quilt in red and aqua.
Safieh showed a charity quilt she made out
of extra 3x6 quilt bee blocks that Liz quilted and Sally offered to
bind
Robin showed a paper pieced pineapple block potholder – say that 3
times fast!
Becca showed a paper pieced rainbow mini quilt
Beth
showed her tied corduroy quilt in honor of National Corduroy Day
I was there, too, although I showed up late. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at our holiday party in a few weeks!
